ZeroTwoHero Foundation

Did you get your Agent 0 Collector's Package? For a very cheap $25 donation, you get
  • One (1) Personalized Swingman Arenas Jersey (size 2XL)
  • One (1) Autographed GilZero Signature Basketball Shoe

The only caveat was waking up on April 21, 2007 at 6 am EST and logging on to GilsArena.com. If you missed it, you still can get the same package (except the jersey isn't personalized) for a $100 donation. Still a good cause in my opinion.

Images to Forget

1. Caron looks pretty happy although he broke bones in his right hand. Unless the Wiz make the Eastern Conference Finals, Caron is done for the season.

2 and 3. Gilbert suffers lateral meniscus tear to end his takeover season.

Wizards-Pacers (postgame)

I came back from work travel and caught the last 5 minutes of the game. Very gut wrenching but the Wiz got the W. Jarvis Hayes stole the pass and that sealed the Wiz's fate as 7th seed in the East. Bulls couldn't beat Nets and so the Wiz will face the Cavs again in the playoffs for the second straight season. This time with no Arenas and no Butler.

Washington: 41-41
Indiana: 35-47

Magic-Wizards (postgame)

Couldn't see the game as I was on work travel. Jamison went crazy for 48 points but that's the only highlight for the home team. Wiz lost 6 straight at home since the injuries to the all-stars. A tough way to end the regular season at home but that's how it is. Wiz fall below .500 since December.

Orlando: 39-42
Washington: 40-41

Bulls-Wizards (postgame)

Game was on ABC and actually watched it even though I was still on travel. Wizards got destroyed on national tv. Not even close as Jamison, Stevenson, and Hayes all struggled. AD didn't play due to back spasms.

Chicago: 49-32
Washington: 40-40

Wizards-Hawks (postgame)

Couldn't see the game as I was on work travel. Both teams decimated by injuries. Wiz won to prevent from falling below .500.

Washington: 40-39
Atlanta: 29-50

Wizards-Heat (postgame)

Couldn't see the game as I was on work travel. Heat won again with Wade back. DC close but couldn't win at the end.

Miami: 43-36
Washington: 39-39

Nets-Wizards (postgame)

Couldn't see the game as I was on work travel. Jersey won again. DC keeping it close again.

New Jersey: 37-40
Washington: 39-38

The Nets game on the road for the Wizards is my last post about the regular season for this time. My work schedule demands that I travel on the road, so I won't be able to follow the Wizards unless it's on highlights from Sportscenter.

Injuries have killed the Wizards at the end of the season. Butler is out. Arenas is out. Blatche is out but may be back for playoffs if Washington makes it.

I may be able to make some playoff games. If so, I'll provide more summaries. If not, it'll be next season.

Long time no post. Been busy at work. Here's a quick wrapup of the last month. Basically, injuries to the 2 all-stars have ruined a good season. Wizards still have a chance to make playoffs, but the hope of the team is only a glimmer now.

Wizards-Nets (postgame)

Went to the game up in the Meadowlands. The Wizards played another good game without Gilbert and Caron. Jamison was huge as he hit a 3 to tie the game with 1.1 seconds. However, both Kidd and Carter had triple-doubles and that did the Wizards in OT. Jarvis Hayes had his best shooting game of the season. 4 game losing streak for Washington.

Washington: 39-37
New Jersey: 36-40

Cavaliers-Wizards (postgame)

The Cavs looked sluggish early as a result from the game the night before against Miami. Very close game throughout as the Wizards didn't yield. AD was great again but didn't have enough at the end. This team will have to change its makeup now that Gilbert is down for the season - a 2-3 month recovery from a torn left knee meniscus.

Cleveland: 46-31
Washington: 39-36

Bobcats-Wizards (postgame)

The season stopped for the Wizards as Gilbert Arenas got hurt. He didn't score any points and never returned to the game. AD ran the offense to perfection but the team is shocked enough to not sustain the lead. Charlotte went down low late and the Wizards couldn't answer back.

Charlotte: 30-46
Washington: 39-35

Wizards-Bobcats (postgame)

Wasn't able to catch the game but noticed that Gerald Wallace was dominant. Add another L to the Wizards.

Washington: 39-34
Charlotte: 29-46

Wizards-Bucks (postgame)

Washington won but lost Caron Butler to basically a season ending injury with a broken bone in his right hand. A tough loss of "Tuff Juice".

Washington: 39-33
Milwaukee: 25-47

Raptors-Wizards (postgame)

This will be known as the Ruffin game. Ruffin threw the ball in the air with 2 seconds to go after intercepting a Raptors inbound pass thinking the game was over. Morris Peterson got the ball and threw the ball into the basket and made it in time. The Wizards became shell-shocked (again) and couldn't mentally will themselves back in overtime. Bosh became unstoppable in OT and the Wizards lose a game they should have won.

Toronto: 40-32
Washington: 38-33

76ers-Wizards (postgame)

A very close game throughout. Philly has improved since the Iverson trade. Iguodala missed the last shot and Wizards hang on to win by 2.

Philadelphia: 28-43
Washington: 38-32

West Coast Swoon as the Wizards went 1-4. Could have been 0-5.

Wizards-Jazz (postgame)

Didn't catch the game. Heard that the Wizards led for much of the game but couldn't stop Boozer late.

Washington: 37-32
Utah: 46-24

Wizards-Clippers (postgame)

Another close game until the end where Maggette outdueled Arenas.

Washington: 37-31
Los Angeles: 34-36

Wizards-Warriors (postgame)

The pace of the Warriors was too fast for the Wizards. Wizards didn't play defense and Golden State just ripped into Washington with Baron Davis.

Washington: 37-30
Golden State: 33-37

Wizards-Sonics (postgame)

Miracle off-balanced layup by Arenas won the game as time expired. Afterwards, Gilbert placed his jersey on the floor. Taunting? Probably. Purely Gilbert? Absolutely. Gilbert made his shot that he couldn't the night before in Portland.

Washington: 37-29
Seattle: 26-41

Wizards-Blazers (postgame)

Blazers stopped Arenas again. He was boo'ed everytime he had the ball. Again, Gilbert struggled to score as he didn't even get 20. He missed the last shot which would have tied the game. Blazer fans happy that Arenas had to put his foot in his mouth once more. Also, Arenas made $5 or $10 bets with fans. The league didn't like that and told him to stop it from ever happening again. If only his predictions will stop in the future as well.

Washington: 36-29
Portland: 27-40

Hornets-Wizards (postgame)

Payback game for the Wizards. Too much scoring did the Hornets in.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City: 29-37
Washington: 36-28

Wizards-Pacers (postgame)

Didn't catch this game but saw the final score. Indy is in trouble as they lost like 9 in a row.

Washington: 35-28
Indiana: 29-35

Losing 3 after winning 3 to start March

It's been up and down for the Wizards. Miami isn't losing so it's pressure time.

Wizards-Heat (postgame)

The Wizards were down by 16 in the second quarter but had an unreal 3rd quarter to lead by as much as 12. However, the Heat was too tough late and hit enough clutch shots to win, such as Haslam's game winner with 0.3 seconds to go. Shaky officiating late in the game that screwed both teams. Wizards' division lead is now just 1 game.

Washington: 34-28
Miami: 33-29

Knicks-Wizards (postgame)

Entertaining game that went back and forth. Steve Francis hit a very tough dagger 3 as time expired to rip the hearts and minds out of the Wizard fans.

New York: 29-34
Washington: 34-27

Wizards-Hawks (postgame)

I missed the game. It sounds like the Wizards didn't show up to play since ZaZa Pachulia dominated. No Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams, and Speedy Claxton and the Hawks still won. Not a good loss this late in the season for the Wizards.

Washington: 34-26
Atlanta: 23-39

Raptors-Wizards (postgame)

Somewhat of a revenge game for the Wizards. Washington held all-star Chris Bosh to only 1 rebound the entire game. That's unreal. Things just flowed very well for the entire Wizards team.

Toronto: 32-29
Washington: 34-25

Warriors-Wizards (postgame)

You hate to see the refs decide the outcome of a game and this turned out to be a gift for the Wizards. Arenas got 3 free throws (from a Pietrus foul and a Don Nelson technical) with 0.1 seconds on the clock. With the Wizards down 2, Arenas made them all calmly.

Golden State: 26-35
Washington: 33-25

Hawks-Wizards (postgame)

Another close game against a below average team. Stevenson made the play of the game by blocking Tyronne Lue's 3 point attempt at the end of the game.

Atlanta: 22-37
Washington: 32-25

The Losing Streak Edition

Heat-Wizards (postgame)

Too much Shaq late against a foul prone Brendan Haywood closed the door on the Wizards. Jason Williams was red hot early and ended the game at 50% shooting. Speaking of shooting, Agent Zero went ice cold going 3 for 18 and missed all his 8 attempts from downtown. No Jamison, no Butler, and no Ruffin for this game. Also, Lang was cut and Mike Hall promoted from D-League to the team.

Miami: 28-29
Washington: 31-25

Wizards-Nets (postgame)

Arenas never has a good game against the Nets and it showed again in this game. Jason Kidd went crazy in the 3rd quarter with 19 points, most of them from 3 point range. Nets just outplayed the Wizards enough to win. Vince Carter had several spectacular plays as usual. Butler was sent home by Eddie Jordan to have MRI on his back.

Washington: 31-24
New Jersey: 28-30

Wizards-TWolves (postgame)

Game wasn't on TV so I didn't catch anything except the written recap. It sounded like Roger Mason had a good game, but Arenas and Hayes didn't. The strangest part of this game happened afterwards, where the Wizards players didn't have hot water in the showers. They had to be doused with heated bottled water. As DeShawn said, this trip has been miserable. Butler didn't play due to back spasms.

Washington: 31-23
Minnesota: 26-30

Wizards-Bulls (postgame)

A very shaky game throughout for the Wizards. Arenas carried the team, but his teammates didn't provide any help for Washington to sustain the attack by the Bulls. Luol Deng had a great game and the Bulls pulled away in the 4th quarter to win by 15. Duhon was ejected in a controversial loose ball that he and Gilbert both dove for. A controversial no basket by Caron Butler right before the half (the ball appeared to have left his hand before the red light came on).

Washington: 31-22
Chicago: 32-25

Kings-Wizards (postgame)

The Wizards almost blew a 17 point lead to barely win by 3 in a controversial finish. Brad Miller made a great pass 80 feet to John Salmons, whom caught it, turned 180, stepped back, and drained the 3. However, after official review, the basket was waived off because Salmons didn't get it off in 0.7 seconds. The game boiled down to Arenas vs. Artest in first half (Gilbert had 30 by halftime) and Butler/Stevenson vs. Bibby in the second half.

Sacramento: 23-30
Washington: 31-21

Timberwolves-Wizards (postgame)

First game since the All-Star break. Most of the Wizard players look refreshed. Arenas found his shooting back (not his 3 point shooting though) against the TWolves. Blatche had a career high 12 rebounds against KG. KG did his thing, but didn't do enough to help his team win. Stevenson had a good game to help Gilbert.

Minnesota: 25-28
Washington: 30-21

All-Star Wrap Up (Wiz-related)

It is the 3rd quarter of the main game and the West is dominating 105-74 (4:42 to go). The East doesn't have anything tonight. The West shot the ball well early and then just did dunk after dunk to embarrass the East.

Very average shooting game from Arenas. All but 1 shot he took were 3's. I think he made 2 of them. Caron Butler missed all his shots, like 3 or 4 of them.

More Arenas news - he got 2nd again in the 3 point contest. This time he lost to Kapono but ahead of Dirk in the finals.

Mike O'Koran coached the Rookies and they got blown out too. Not a good coaching show by the Wizards on any front.

Wizards-76ers (postgame)

A sloppy game from both sides. Bad shooting from Arenas and Butler. Usually that spells trouble (as evidenced since Jamison's injury), but Iguodala and Andre Miller shot poorly as well. The Wizards bench shockingly came up big for Washington. A double double for Blatche.

Washington: 29-21
Philadelphia: 17-36

Trailblazers-Wizards (postgame)

I missed this game completely. I heard on the radio that it was the Wizards worst game of the season (thus far). Arenas came up 41 points short of his 50 point prediction. I guess the only fan consolation prize are the Wiz Wigs.

Portland: 22-30
Washington: 28-21

Spurs-Wizards (postgame)

The game was an absolute beatdown by the Spurs. Wizards shooting continue to struggle around the 35% area. Too much Parker early, Duncan midway, and Ginobili late. The Wizards were down 20 at halftime; made a slight run; but the Spurs closed out any doubt of a comeback by the home team. The Wizards starters were on the bench with 9 minutes to go in the game.

San Antonio: 33-16
Washington: 28-20
