Wizards-Mavericks (postgame)
Obviously, this game was a tale of two halves. Many would say that the Wizards played decent in the first half, but I disagree. The Wizards continue to fall into a pattern of loading up on Arenas' scoring and not distributing the ball within the Princeton offense. After Arenas went cold and the Mavericks got warm, the Wizards did what they always do - hang their heads and not do anything about it. The starters would go into a shell and hope that someone else take the initiative for a comeback. I absolutely hate the attitude of this team during these types of scenarios -- and it seems to happen consistently on road games. It is a significant sign that the team is soft.
When the opponent gets on a hot shooting streak, there is nothing you can do but try and match the scoring if you know that defense isn't one of the team's strengths. However, the Wizards weren't able to do that and fell behind by 31 points near the end of the game. Dallas now won 7 straight after starting the season with 4 consecutive losses. Washington hasn't won any of its first five road games, the latest it has gone this deep in the season without a road victory since 1999-00.
The Wizards play against the Houston Rockets tonight. The starters should be more rested due to the blowout at Dallas. Actually, with this team, no one knows what is going to happen. If the team falls to 0-6 on the road, no one will be shocked. If the team wins tonight, no one will be shocked.
Washington: 4-6
Dallas: 7-4
