Hawks-Wizards 1 (postgame)

The Wiz stopped the losing streak. Arenas had 9 turnovers and he almost single-handedly lost the game for his team. Butler is playing great basketball right now. Reports say he lost some weight and his actions on the court are showing big time. Jamison was hot early but went ice cold in the second quarter. Hayes played some productive minutes as well.

Joe Johnson of the Hawks is becoming the next Paul Pierce. He has the ability to score, pass, rebound, and defend well. His selection to Team USA was well deserved. Josh Smith had a bad shooting game. It was shocking to see Caron Butler blowing past him for the dunk. Atlanta went very deep in the rotation. Marvin Williams didn't play due to a broke finger and his status as a # 2 pick is in jeopardy.

Atlanta: 5-7
Washington: 5-9

The Slide Continues

I wasn't able to watch the road games for the Wizards. However, I was able to catch a glimpse of the highlights (maybe lowlights). I did go to the Pistons game on Saturday night. Getting another free t-shirt was the only thing fans felt happy about.

Pistons-Wizards (postgame)

It was a very entertaining game. Arenas came out and shot better than the Memphis game but it was his mental errors that did the Wizards in. Arenas made stupid plays at crucial times that led to turnovers (had 7 turnovers) and untimely shot selection. Again, the Wizards continue to rely on shooting 3s to either push the lead or save them from losing the lead and this particular strategy isn't working (a poor strategy at that). The only 2 players that should shoot any 3s are Arenas and Jamison. When Hayes, Daniels, Butler, and Stevenson start chucking 3s, the team will not win.

Detroit used their poise to break down Washington. Tayshaun Prince had a great game. He's a very efficient player and one of the best 2-way players in the league. Billups started slow but after all his clutch free throws, he ended with 29 points.

Washington no longer scares any team and they're looking like the Phoenix Suns with less overall talent. This could be a long season of "what ifs".

Detroit: 9-5
Washington: 4-9

Wizards-Grizzlies (afterthought)

Losing to one of the worst teams this season (not Memphis' fault since Gasol is out for at least half a season) on the road was bad. Arenas had a really bad game (1 for 12 and only 3 points). I've seen Gilbert play like this before. There must be something bothering him mentally (like personal issues). I thought the Wiz would get the road-monkey off their backs with this game, but that didn't happen.

Washington: 4-8
Memphis: 3-9

Wizards-Rockets (afterthought)

Nice comeback by the Wizards but not grabbing the rebound after the missed free throw to potentially tie/win the game on the road against Houston was a punch to the stomach. That's the only play people will remember for a while. I expected Yao Ming to have a bigger game (statistically speaking). Disappointing, but that's how the road games are turning out.

Washington: 4-7
Houston: 8-4
